Mahottari folks have been experiencing chilling cold due to the cold snap sweeping the region for the past five days.
Normal life has been hit hard due to cold wave, thick fog and cold wind blowing continuously since December 16. Day to day activities of the people have been affected and children and elderly persons have started falling ill due to this.
Farmers said that the winter crop and vegetables planted in farm have started rotting due to cold. Movement of people has now decreased at the city and rural areas of the district including Jaleshwor.
The sale of woolen and warm clothes has increased at different markets in the district. Number of patients visiting different health institutions including District Hospital has increased, said doctors.
