CPN (Unified Socialist) Chairperson and former prime minister Madhav Kumar Nepal has urged the people's representatives to dedicate themselves to the service of people.

Addressing Rautahat's Gaur Municipality's 12th municipal conference here today, the CPN (US) leader stressed the need for elected local representatives to identify themselves with the slogan of 'Singha Durbar at people's households' and act accordingly.

"The concept of local government is bringing Singha Durbar to people's doorstep, and in that spirit, elected local representatives must act by putting themselves in service of the people to win their hearts," said Nepal.

The MP elected from Rautahat Constituency-1 also asked the government to provide additional budget to the local levels putting out impressive performance.

"The government should identify the poor households and provide them identity cards and ensure employment opportunities to them," he said, also asking the local administration to address the concern of the victims of usury.

Nepal also congratulated the local representatives present on being best performer in fiscal good governance.
