Locals cut water, power supply to police office
Nawalparasi, March 15
Locals of Bulingtar today cut water and electricity supply to the local police post protesting the arrest of a local youth with a gun last evening.
Police had arrested Chandra Bahadur Susling, 22, of Batasa, Bulingtar-3 with a gun while he had gone to a nearby forest for hunting. Demanding Susling’s release, the locals staged a sit-in in front of Bulingtar Police Post the entire day today.
Nawalpur district police office SP Dipendra GC said locals cut water and electricity to the police office today after Susling was sent to Kawasoti district police office for further action. Bulingtar Police Post was using locally-produced electricity and drinking water free of charge. “We can’t provide water and electricity to the police as they framed our fellow villager,” said Nepali Congress Bulingtar President Chandra Bahadur Lamkan.
