Okhaldhunga Provincial Hospital will be constructed at Toksel of Manebhajyang Rural Municipality in Okhaldhunga.

The locals of Okhaldhunga, Solukhumbu, Khotang, Udayapur and surrounding districts looked happy after knowing that a hospital would be built at Toksel as they could receive quality health service from the hospital.

Provincial Assembly member from Okhaldhunga Mohan Khadka said that the dream of building a provincial hospital would come true after a long wait and struggle.

Hospital Land Management Committee Chairman Arjun Kumar Gautam donated 35 ropani land for construction of the health facility. He said the lawmakers elected from the province decided to establish the health facility to provide quality health services to the locals. Khadka said that provincial health facilities would also be established in Panchthar and Dhankuta districts.

The detailed project report was prepared for construction of the hospital this year at Toksel of the rural municipality.

As many as 25 locals donated land worth Rs five crore to establish the hospital. "The locals donated the land voluntarily as they were happy when the decision to construct the hospital was taken," Khadka added.

The locals have donated lands up to 35 ropani for the same purpose. Dal Bahadur Aale Magar donated 21 ropani and 11 ana land to construct the health facility, Laxmi Gautam 16 ropani and nine ana, Nir Prasad Gautam eight ropani, Khila Gautam seven ropans and ten ana, Rabi Lal Gautam and Bal Ram Gautam have jointly donated 11 ropani, Bal Kumari Gautam seven ropani, Jaya Prasad Gautam six ropani, Ain Kumari Adhikari five ropani, Hem Bahadur Shrestha five ropani, Durga Prasad Gutam three ropani eight aana, Krishna Prasad Gautam and Shiva Lal Gautam jointly donated six ropani and twelve ana, Kapil Mani Gautam two ropani and nine ana.

Similarly, Yagya Prasad Gautam donated five ropani and ten ana land for the hospital, Nirmal Gautam five ropani and ten ana, Bikash Shrestha three ropain and five ana, Chitra Kumari Shrestha one ropani, Devi Chandra Gautam one ropani and six ana, Om Prasad Gautam one ropani and ten ana, Ratna Prasad Gautam two ropani and ten ana, Kamal Bahadur Shrestha one ropani, Matrika Prasad Gautam one ropani and eight ana, Ganga Prasad Gautam one ropani and one ana and Rabi Lal Gautam one ropani and five ana land for construction of the hospital in the local level.

The lands donated by local donors have been registered in the name of the Ministry of Social Development.

The rural municipality Vicechair Sabita Rai said the rural municipality has played a facilitatory role for the donation of land and DPR preparation. She said that the locals in Okhaldhunga, Solukhumbu, Khotang, Udayapur, among other surrounding districts would benefit from the health facility.

The estimated budget for the project is two billion rupees.

Lawmaker Khadka said that the construction would be smooth as a long-term pride project of the province government after segregating the budget. The hospital will have up to 150 beds.
