CHITWAN: The locals of Chitwan gheraoed the Basantapur Area Police Office of Madi on Saturday night over police misbehaviour. The incident occurred when two intoxicated policemen fell from their motorcycle and misbehaved with the locals when the latter advised them to exercise more caution. The irate police personnel attacked the locals verbally and even threatened them. The locals gheraoed the Police Office throughout Saturday night demanding stern action. The situation returned to normal after the police officials gave their assurance of an investigation into the matter and action against the accused if found guilty.
