Locals hit hard as heavy snowfall blankets upper Mustang

MUSTANG: Normal life of locals has been hit hard for the second consecutive day as heavy snowfall has blanketed the upper Mustang since Sunday.

With snow covering the upper parts of the district, temperature has dipped and freezing cold has gripped the normal life in various places including Muktinath, Lomanthang, Thorpass, Chhoser, Chhonup, Phuwa and Nechyung among others.

Meanwhile, transportation has also been disrupted by the snowfall in these areas. The region received snowfall for the second time this winter season.

Annapurna Conservation Area Project, Lomangthang Chief Tulasi Dahal shared that the snowfall has continued since Sunday evening.

Locals have been forced to confine themselves indoors due to the cold. The areas have also been witnessing wind along with heavy snowfall.

However, farmers are found happy expecting better harvest.
