LAMJUNG : Everyone would be taken aback on hearing that people have to wake up in the middle of the night to collect a pitcher of water, but this is the reality for villages of Tandrangtaksar VDC. People of the area cannot get water if they do not queue up in front of a water source at midnight. The locals said that acute scarcity of water was looming large in the southern parts of the district . Furthermore, the drinking water project in the area is implausible due to the lack of water sources nearby. Nanda Gurung, a local lamented, ''There is always a huge crowd in front of the well even at midnight.'' Local Mina Gurung said that they had been facing the water shortage for a long time now. "But the authorities have paid no attention to our problem," she said.
