TRISHULI: Locals have obstructed the construction of the Mid-Hill Highway, citing that they were not provided with the compensation for their land and houses that are to be removed for the road expansion from Dhikure to Gangate of Nuwakot district.

The locals have constituted a struggle committee and are protesting the road expansion.

According to Narayan Adhikari, coordinator of the committee, "The people who have been already been rendered homeless due to the devastating earthquake in April 2015 will now become landless with the road expansion."

The committee has urged the authorities to expand the road through an alternative route.
