Locals at Ramechhap district today picketed Nepal Electricity Authority, Manthali branch, to protest irregularities in electricity supply in the district.

The locals said electronic gadgets had been ruined due to fluctuation in power supply. They said they have been suffering due to negligence on the part of the concerned authority. “We have suffered much as the concerned authority has not listened to the plight of villagers,” they added.   The district dwellers said they had picketed the office to make the staff aware of their problems.

Govinda Prasad Ghimire, a civil leader, said they had resorted to this measure as the staff at the office had paid no heed.

Meanwhile, Civil Networks, Ramechhap Coordinator Ram Chandra Biyogi said that most of the electronic items were damaged due to fluctuation in power supply. “Power has been cut off more than 15 times in an hour,” he added.
