RAJBIRAJ, APRIL 5

Relatives of the murdered doctor and locals staged a protest and submitted a memorandum to the District Administration Office, Morang, demanding action against the murderers at Rajbiraj in Saptari today.

Bijaya Yadav, 30, of Bishnupur Rural Municipality, Saptari, who was working at Nobel Hospital, was found murdered at his Biratnagar-based rented room on April 2. The locals and relatives of Yadav submitted a memorandum to Morang CDO through Saptari CDO Janardan Gautam demanding action against people involved in the case. A copy of the memorandum was also submitted to the Office of the Prime Minister, Home Minister's office, Province 1 Police Office, Madhes Police Office, District Police Office, Morang, and District Police Office, Saptari.

Yadav had been working in the hospital for the last four years. He was found dead in the rented house on April 2.

Relatives started protesting after the final rites of Yadav. They demanded action against the culprits. The relatives have also warned that they will hit the streets if the culprits are not arrested within three days. Kailash Yadav, a relative of the doctor, said that an investigation was under way and truth would be brought out very soon.

Police have yet to arrest people even though it has already been four days since the doctor was found dead.

Protesters also chanted slogans against the government during the protest rally.

Receiving the memorandum, CDO Gautam said that his office would send the memorandum to the respective offices immediately.
