Locals unsatisfied with pace of construction projects
Bajura, February 19
Locals of Bajura are unhappy with the division office of Department of Urban Development and Building Construction, Doti.
They have accused the DUDBC office of being careless with the construction of the district’s government office buildings and turning a deaf ear to complaints. Residents said they were concerned about the pace of construction projects.
Construction of health post buildings at the district’s Kanda and Dogadi VDCs have not been completed in seven years. Authorities are conducting an unsystematic survey of the sewage network in the district, locals said to Chief of the DUDBC division office Jhapad Singh Bishwokarma.
President of Bajura Chamber of Commerce and Industry Dev Bahadur Rokaya said during an informal meeting with government representatives yesterday of the failure to rightly utilise the district’s budget and on the delay in construction of buildings.
Bishwokarma, on the other hand, talked about the preparations to start urban development building reform programme, 100 persons’ settlement programme, and the quake risk minimisation programme. The budget channeled to the district in the last fiscal year is yet to be used, shared Padam Baduwal, a resident of Bajura.
