RAJBIRAJ, SEPTEMBER 4

Aniruddh Prasad Singh Yadav, an independent member of Madhes Pradesh Assembly, has been arrested on the charge of murder.

Police apprehended him from Rajbiraj today at 3:30 pm as soon as Yadav he arrived in Rajbiraj, according to Superintendent of Police Narendra Kumar Karki. Police arrested Yadav in relation to a murder incident that took place in 2008. He was on the list of fugitives. Yadav faces allegations of directing the murder of Govinda Chaudhary of then Khoksar Prabah VDC-1. Chaudhary was kidnapped from Bodebarsain VDC-4 and shot to death in 2007.

After an FIR was filed with the police accusing him of murder, Yadav was gone at large. Chaudhary's wife Rita Kumari had filed the FIR against nine persons, including Yadav, with the District Police Office Saptari on 28 June 2007.
