Madhesi party cadres greet Dahal with black flags in Siraha

LAHAN: A clash has taken place between leaders of Madhes-based political parties and police in Mirchaiya of Siraha district.

The clash took place when the leaders of Mashes-based parties tried to greet Chairman of the UCPN-Maoist and lawmaker from Siraha Constituency -5, Pushpa Kamal Dahal, with black flags.

Leader Dahal arrived here earlier today to participate at a programme organised in Mirchaiya to collect people's feedback on preliminary draft of new constitution.

Six demonstrators were injured in the incident after police resorted to lathicharge to control the mob.

However, feedback collection has begun in Mirchaiya in the presence of Dahal despite obstruction of demonstrators. Feedback collection task is underway in all six constituencies of Siraha district.

Security situation has been tightened in the district to curb any untoward incidents in course of feedback collection, Deputy Superintendent of Police in Siraha, Madhav Budhathoki said. A large number of security personnel have been deployed at the programme venue.
