Mahayagya begins

Kathmandu, January 26:

Proposed ambassador to India, Dr Durgesh Man Singh and prof Dr Madhav Prasad Bhattarai, president of the Nepal Panchaga Nirnayak Samiti inaugurated a seven-day Mahayagya at Arubari today.

The religious function aims to collect funds to construct a community building, a temple of Radha Krishna and a building to perform death rites in Arubari. A press release issued by the Mahayagya organising committee stated that various rituals would be conducted during the Mahayagya, where Kapil Dev Subedi, a Hindu philosopher would recite religious stories. The statement also said that those donating cash and kind for the cause would be publicly felicitated. The Mahayagya began this morning with a procession participated by academicians, philosopher and other members of civil society.
