KATHMANDU, JUNE 22

The Ministry of Federal Affairs and General Administration has urged the local levels to formulate, unveil, and implement their annual budget and programmes, which contribute to mainstreaming the vulnerable, excluded, and underprivileged groups into national development.

"The local levels are requested to formulate their annual budget and programme to ensure that women, Dalits, indigenous nationalities, Madhesis, Muslims, excluded and underprivileged groups, children, senior citizens, persons with disabilities and those socially, economically and educationally backward are given due priority while mainstreaming them into the share of development activities and outcomes fairly," MoFAGA circular reads.

It also reminded the local units that these issues were also incorporated into the current 15th Plan of government. Caste-based discrimination, lack of access to health and education, among other indicators, have deprived them of fundamental rights.
