Makawanpur IRO collects Rs 2.26 billion in revenue

HETAUDA: The Inland Revenue Office (IRO), Makawanpur has collected more than Rs 2.26 billion in revenue during the first six months of the current fiscal year.

According to the IRO, the office collected Rs 1.37 billion, the highest amount of revenue, under excise duty.

The office also collected Rs 420 million from income tax, Rs 330 million from VAT while Rs 2.55 million from interest tax during the first six months of the current fiscal year, informed Chief of the Inland Revenue Office, Makawanpur, Basanta Dhakal.

Likewise, Gorkha Lahari Industry in Hetauda Industrial Estate submitted the highest amount of tax equivalent to Rs 619 million while Asian Paints Pvt Ltd paid Rs 269 million.

According to the information shared by the Office, Nepal Brewery paid Rs 229 million while Rs 112 million was collected from Unilever and over Rs 80 million from Shivam Cements.
