Makawanpur police make six fraudsters public

Makawanpur Police made public a person arrested for swindling people by promising to help them acquire license for herb collection.

Speaking at a press meet organised on the premises of District Police Office Makawanpur, DSP Sishu Sharma said police had arrested Hom Bahadur Paudel from Okhaldhunga’s Tarkebari for swindling Yudda Bahadur KC of Darling VDC-2, Baglung.

Paudel was held from Kathmandu’s Koteswor on January 27. “Paudel had swindled KC of Rs 5.50 lakh pledging to help him acquire license for collecting herbs,” DSP Sharma said. Police informed that Paudel’s accomplices Bikram and Ram Bahadur Thapa were at large.

“Paudel’s group was found to have duped Rs 1.2 million from Ramlal Pandey of Baglung’s Burtiwang promising to help him secure the license for herb collection,” SP Mira Chaudhary said.

Meanwhile, Makwanpur police paraded as many as five persons, including two APF personnel, arrested for their involvement in kidnapping and robbery today.

The five arrested include Sanjok Moktan, Nabin Bartaula, Archan Pun along with APF cops Jyoti Nepali and Tej Bahadur Sunar.

The group had abducted Madhurendra Prasad Jaisawal, a pharmacy operator, on January 30.

They had looted Rs 8,500 cash and gold jewellery from Jaisawal threatening him with a fake gun.
