NRN UK and other individuals have provided support to 17 malnourished women and children at Muktikot village in Swamikartik Khapar Rural Municipality, Bajura.

According to rural municipality Chairperson Bharat Bahadur Rokaya, NRN UK and other individuals from different places have provided support to malnourished women and children after reading a news report about Muktikot village's Reli BK's trouble raising her four kids by feeding them goat milk.

While NRN UK provided Rs 157,000 in assistance, Nilu Anchhambu Limbu from Hong Kong, and Raju Ghimire and Sangita Ghimire from Bhairahawa provided Rs 10,000 and Rs 15,000 respectively.

Similarly, Aashirma Gautam and Aashirbad Gautamprovided clothes to 19 children of 17 women.

The rural municipality said while Rs 53,000 was provided to Reli BK's family, 14 other mothers each got Rs 7,300 and two other mothers got Rs 8,300 each in assistance. "We decided to provide support to the victims with whatever we could afford after reading a news report about Reli BK's struggle with malnutrition,"

NRN UK Vice-chairperson Shakuntala Gurung said.

Earlier, a news report was published about Reli BK's plight who suffered from malnutrition. She had shared her experience of raising her four kids by feeding them goat milk. Upon getting the relief, BK expressed her gratitude to the persons and organisations for their invaluable support.

As learnt, Muktikot is among places in the district and the entire country worst affected by malnutrition.
