GAUSHALA: Police said a man was found dead in Matihani Rural Municipality-5 of Mahottari district on Monday.

It is yet to establish the identity of the man who appeared to be in his 50s.

The man died of heat stroke in Matihani Bazaar yesterday, said police.

The man with the vision defect was first spotted begging and spending nights under open sky in the locality few days ago , informed Sub Inspector Mahendra Sah at the Matihani-based Police Post.

Police have speculated that the ensuing excessive heat in Tarai for couple of days and the fete organised in the market place may have led to his death without any cooler place to take shelter into.

The body has been kept at the Jaleshwar-based District Hospital for the postmortem, informed police.

Police are investigating further into the case.
