Man believed to have been murdered by Alam alive, claims wife

Rautahat, November 8

While a trial hearing is under way in the case of suspended lawmaker of Nepali Congress Mohammad Aftab Alam at District Court, Rauthat, in connection with murder, attempted murder and explosion, wife of Oshi Akhtar, who was said to have been killed by Alam, approached the court to register an application stating  that her husband was alive.

Aman Khatun visited the court and tried to register the application saying that her husband was not killed in the bomb explosion, but had gone abroad for job. Khatun had visited the court while advocates and government attorneys were participating in the hearing at the court.

A court source said the application was not registered. “Alam’s people used the woman as a strategy to influence the case so it was not registered,” said the source.

It is learnt that Khatun came to register the application to make the case hostile as per Alam’s plot.

District Police Office, Rautahat, Superintendent of Police Bhupendra Khatri accused Alam’s people of hatching a plot to influence the case. “The woman’s statement does not hold any truth,” said SP Khatri.
