Man builds tomb for himself, spouse
Panchthar, May 6
It may sound bizarre but a couple has constructed a tomb for themselves at Ward No 8 of Falelung Rural Municipality, Panchthar.
Man Prasad Kurumbang built the tomb to bury himself and his wife Budhrani’s bodies after their death. The tomb was built at a cost of Rs 112,063.
Octogenarian Man Prasad said he had the tomb constructed so that his children, relatives and neighbours would not have to search for a burial place after he and his wife died.
Budhrani visits the tomb located at five minutes’ walking distance from her home and cleans the grave every day.
Her son Laxmi Prasad said his father has asked him to keep his body in a coffin and place it inside the grave and shut its door.
Fruit plants have been planted around the grave.
Man Prasad said he constructed the cemented tomb as bodies buried under the soil and stones came out during construction work. Man Prasad’s family supported him in the construction of the tomb.
