BANKE: A man was burnt to death when a tire resoling centre at Khajura road in Nepalgunj, Banke caught fire on Sunday.

The deceased has been identified as Hasim Iraki (20) of Nepalgunj-8.

Property worth around Rs 800,000 is estimated to have been gutted in the incident.

The fire was extinguished after one hour with the joint effort of Nepal Police, Armed Police Force, Nepal Army and a fire engine, police said.

According to the preliminary report, petrol stored in the centre fuelled the fire that engulfed the centre in no time, police said.

Meanwhile, police have held Rijawan Halwai, owner of the tyre resoling center, for investigation.
