RAJBIRAJ: A 36-year-old man, who went missing on Monday, was found dead in a pond in Rajbiraj Municipality-4 today.

Mohammed Alam had gone to take a bath in Kaltudas Pokhari, and his wife Jamila Khatoon to wash clothes, when Alam drowned and went missing at around 10:00 am.

After the incident, Khatoon went to the police in an attempt to rescue and help Alam.

Police, upon getting the information, reached the incident site and carried out a search for Alam underwater for eight hours but could not find him.

The locals saw a body floating in the pond and immediately informed the police this morning.

The body has been sent to Gajendra Narayan Singh Sagarmatha Zonal Hospital in the district for postmortem.

Police are looking into the case.
