MELAMCHI: Police on Wednesday arrested a man in possession of illegal gold and silver from Bahunepati, Melamchi Municipality-8 of Sindhupalchok district.

The suspect has been identified as Deepak Majhi.

A joint police team deployed from Central Investigation Bureau, Metropolitan Police Circle, Swoyambhu and District Police Office, Sindhupalchok, confiscated one kg old and four kg silver from the jewellery shop and home of Majhi.

The precious metals were hidden under the ground, said Inspector Niraj Dangi of the Area Police Office, Melamchi.
