Man jailed for dowry murder

District court Mahottari has declared Ram Sharan Yadav guility of murdering his daughtr-in-law and ordered him to the prison. Yadav, a resident of Ward-9 of Dhirapur Village Development Committee, murdered his daughter-in-law because she brought in insignificant amount of dowry.
The verdict was announced by a bench of district judge headed by Pawan Kumar Sharma. It is learnt that culprit Yadav had first manhandled and then murdered his 20-year-old daughter-in-law, Manju Devi, on the evening of 24th May 2002 in what was described as a gruesome murder motivated by pecuniary gains.
After the incident, Brahmdev Yadav, father of dead Manju Devi, had filed an FIR to the police. In the process of investigation, the police had arrested the father-in-law of the dead lady and the husband and mother-in-law of Manju Devi are still absconding. The police is further investigating the incident.
The police force having completed its initial process of investigation, accused Ram Sharan Yadav and he was brought to district court Mahotari through the office of district lawyer.
