DHANGADI:  A person who participated in the Holi festive celebration was killed in Tikapur of Kailali district last night.

The deceased has been identified as Karan Thapa (21), a resident of Tikapur Municipality-2.

The incident occurred when Thapa came under the attack of an unidentified group at 11:45 pm on Thursday when the Holi festivities, organised by Sanskritik Samaj Tikapur, was on-going at the local open-theatre.

Thapa, who received fatal injuries in the attack by a khukuri, passed away at Tikapur Hospital during the course of treatment, police said.

Police have held four persons, suspecting their involvement in the killing, and further investigation into the case is underway.
