DAMAULI: A man died and his wife sustained critical injuries in a bus-bike collision at Jamune VDC-1 of Tanahun along the Prithvi Highway on Friday.

According to the District Police Office, Tanahun, the deceased has been identified as biker Prakash Tamang (26) of Kalika Municipality-10 of Chitwan.

Police said that pillion rider Asmita Tamang (21) was critically injured in the incident.

She is receiving treatment at the Pokhara-based Manipal Teaching Hospital.

Police said that Prakash breathed his last during the course of treatment at the same hospital.

The incident occurred when the bus (Ba 3 Kha 7956) heading towards Damauli from Pokhara collided head-on with the two-wheeler (Na 20 Pa 4353) yesterday afternoon.

Police said that they have impounded the bus and arrested its driver for investigation.
