DHANKUTA: Police arrested a man for murdering his friend in Mahalaxmi Municipality-2, Dhankuta today.

According to the Dhankuta District Police Office (DPO), Ghanendra Limbu (25) of Mahalaxmi Municipality-2, Dhankuta accused Santosh Limbu (22) of the same locality of teasing his sister and attacked him with a sharp knife at around 5:00 am, killing him on the spot.

Both of them had been celebrating Ubhauli Mela in Saakela Thani temple on the occasion of Baishak Purnima before the incident.

Police have already taken Ghanendra into custody and sent the body of the deceased to the district hospital for postmortem, said Police Inspector Suraj Khadka at Dhankuta DPO.

Meanwhile, further investigation into the case is underway, informed police.
