Gaighat, July 28

A man in Triyuga Municipality of Udayapur, who could not fulfil his wish to buy a piece of land from his neighbour, has obstructed a public road much to the inconvenience of the people residing in the neighbourhood.

Mohan Shahi of Fulchowk in Triyuga Municipality-3 had sought to buy a strip of land belonging  to his neighbour Ram Prasad Sah. Sah said Shahi blocked the road in front of his house after he refused to sell his land.  Local Jivan Wagle  said, “The road in question is a public road. The municipality has been graveling the road every year and also the NEA has erected electricity poles along the road.”

Sah said he had filed a complaint with police and at ward and municipal offices over the matter. Municipality mayor Baldev Chaudhary pledged action against anyone involved in blockade of a public road.
