MMP students invent water bicycle
PATHARI: A group of students at the Manmohan Memorial Polytechnic (MMP) at Hattimuda, Sunsari district have invented a water bicycle that could be pedalled through water.
Keeping in view the difficulties in rescue efforts during the flood in various places across the country, the third year students of diploma in mechanical engineering at the MMP built the bicycle as a part of their project work, according to MMP Chief Dr Subhash Pokharel.
A team of students led by Barjit Thapa, heeding the call from within, had an urge to construct a tool that would come handy in rescue effort during floods.
Team leader Thapa said, "The invention of water bicycle is in recognition of the difficulties while launching rescue efforts in flood-inundated areas."
