Maoist ban affects life

Dhading, May 13:

Public life in Dhading has been affected by a week-long sanction imposed by pro-Maoist organisations.

Transportation services are suspended since the last four days. Vegetables are rotting as the villagers have not been able to travel to the district headquarters. Trucks, tankers and tractors carrying essential commodities have been banned. Not more than 100 vehicles plied on Prithvi Highway. The vehicular movement was affected after the Maoists torched five vehicles, including a civilian truck, an RNA truck, a police jeep and two passenger buses within a week.
