Maoist cadres vandalise bank

NEPALGUNJ: On the last day of their three-day general strike, UCPN-Maoist cadres vandalised Nepal Investment Bank here on Tuesday afternoon. One of the staffers of the bank said that the demonstrators smashed the windowpanes and main door. Mantrilal Gupta, branch chief of the bank, said, “We’d opened the door only to ease the passers by but not for official purpose.’’ All other banks too had shut their ATM services during the strike due to security reason. When asked, acting secretary of the UCPN-Maoist in the district Ganesh Khanal rejected that his cadres were involved in the incident.
