Maoist leader abducted
Dhangadhi, March 22:
An unidentified gang yesterday abducted Laxman Chaudhary, general secretary of Tharu Rastriya Mukti Morcha (TRMM). He is also the Maoist Far-West Bureau member.
Roshan, who was heading to Attariya from Dhangadhi on a bike, was abducted nearby Geta Eye Hospital, the Maoist regional command said.
Roshan informed of his abduction over phone from Paliya of Uttar Pradesh in India, Informal Sector Service Centre (INSEC) regional coordinator Khadakraj Joshi said.
“Roshan has urged the INSEC to inform his party and authorities concerned about the demand of the kidnappers and for his release,” he said.
The TM Don group, in a statement faxed to the INSEC Dhangadhi office this morning, claimed to have abducted him at 8 am yesterday.
The statement said, “TM Don group successfully abducted Roshan. We want a ransom of Rs 1 million within five days for his release and the Maoists will be responsible if anything happens to him.”
Roshan, through the statement, has urged Maoist Regional Command in-charge, Biplav, and human right activists to take initiatives for his release.
