Maoist meet deliberates on Prachanda’s report
Kathmandu, April 11:
The central committee meeting of the CPN-Maoist began at the party’s central contact office in Buddhanagar today. The meeting is expected to discuss current political situation, party’s organisational strength and reports presented by party chairman Prachanda.
Central leader and chief whip of the Maoists’ parliamentary party, Dinanath Sharma, told this daily that the chairman analysed the current political scenario, party’s political strategy and the agenda for the constituent assembly polls.
Sharma said the meeting would continue tomorrow and would pass the chairman’s reports with suggestions. Highlighting Prachanda’s political report, Sharma said that the party would go to the people during the polls with the agenda of democratic republic and restructuring of the state based on federal system of governance. He said the CPN-Maoist would pledge its commitment to the people that ethnic, regional and gender disparity would be resolved after making a new constitution through CA polls.
He said Prachanda’s political report has laid emphasis on the need to focus party’s attention on constituent assembly election, the date of which is yet to be announced by the interim government.
