Dhangadhi, February 13:

Villagers and students, protesting the beating up of Nepali Congress cadres by Maoist cadres at Malakheti in Kailali yesterday, vandalised the Regional Contact Office of Maoists in Attariya today. Six Maoist cadres who were inside the office fled from the back door. The protesters also vandalised the office of Seti-Mahakali Mutki Morcha.

They have sought action against the Maoists involved in the attack and compensation for the injured. The protesters also disrupted traffic at Attariya Chowk for three hours from 1 pm today.

Maoist cadres had beaten up NC-D cadres Bhim Bahadur Madai, Tekraj Bhatt, Dambar Pali and Dipak Pali at Malakheti yesterday in a dispute over citizenship certificates.
