Maoist, UML leaders call a halt to Kaski clashes

Pokhara, September 24:

Local leaders of the CPN (UML) and the CPN (Maoist) today reached an agreement to put an end to the clashes between activists affiliated to their sister organisations — the ANNFSU and the ANNISU-R.

The tense situation returned to normal following the agreement.

Secretary of the Kaski district chapter of the CPN-UML, Rabindra Adhikari, Gandaki zonal secretary Khagaraj Adhikari, in-charge of the Kaski district chapter of the CPN-Maoist Karan and Maoist leader Biplav took part in the meeting. The two parties agreed to put an end to clashes and move ahead by rectifying their mistakes. Organising a press conference here today, the Kaski chapter of the CPN-UML said an agreement has been reached to put an end to the tension by holding discussions.
