Maoists behind Solu attack, says KC

Kathmandu, March 27:

Bal Bahadur KC, a Nepali Congress poll candidate, who was injured in the Solukhumbu clash

yesterday, accused the Maoists of severely assaulting him and other NC cadres today.

He said that some 500 armed Maoist cadres attacked him and the NC cadres while they were heading for an election campaign.

“The incidents of attacks on candidates of other parties in the last few days indicate that Maoists do not want the CA election to happen,” he said, adding that Prachanda was not sincerely following the agreements signed with the seven-party alliance.”

He said a new political episode would begin after the CA polls, but the recent activities of the Maoists show that they were not going to accept the changes.

“No body feels secure to take part in the polls in the villages. If the security situation remains the same, the election may not take place,” he said.

Condemning the undemocratic and inhuman acts of the Maoists, he demanded that the government should take strict action against the culprits.
