Maoists capture two transport workers

Dhankuta, October 15 :

Maoists have seized two transport workers at Dhankuta’s Leguwa for allegedly provoking others to stage a demonstration against them.

Bhupen Rai and Sanjeev Tamang of Dhankuta municipality Ward No 1 of Hile have been accused by the Maoists of inciting locals to stage an anti-Maoist demonstration on Monday. The two were caught by the Maoists yesterday, said the Nepal Transport Workers’ Association. Tamang is a district member of the association while Rai is a general member.

The CPN-Maoist Dhankuta in-charge, Mikso, claimed that he directed his party’s cadres to nab the two men as they were involved in financial irregularities and misbehaving with women and even raping them. Mikso also said that the local adminsitration had concurred with his action. He said the duo would be handed over to the police.
