Maoists clean up city
CHITWAN: CPN-Maoist militias on Saturday morning swept the Narayangarh bazaar clean. They also collected garbage from different corners of the bazaar and took away the refuse in rickshaws and handcarts that flaunted communist flags. Local Maoist leaders warned people not to dump garbage in the bazaar area and requested them to throw the garbage at a fixed place. Maoist municipal in-charge Vivek said: “The militias cleaned the bazaar from Pulchowk to Lions Chowk of Narayangarh. The campaign was launched to make good relations with citizens of the bazaar area.” According to Vivek, around 100 persons including 64 Maoist militias took part in the clean-up drive. Equipment was provided by the municipality.
