Bara, May 7:

The CPN-Maoist Bara committee today denied grabbing any land and said farmers themselves had seized 40 bighas of land belonging to 106 members of Sah community at Gadhahal-6. At a press conference today Maoist Bara-5 secretary Tapeshwor Raya Chaudhary said the party did not have any policy to seize anyone’s land and that the farmers themselves had grabbed the land.

The seized land is a fraction of the 900 bighas owned by the Sah community, which the Appellate Court Hetauda said exceeded the land ceiling and therefore was sealed, Chaudhary claimed.

Yesterday, the Sah community members had accused the Maoists of helping the farmers

in grabbing their 40 bighas of land.
