Maoists displace police post in Baitadi
Mahendranagar, May 28:
A police post reinstated at Hata of Baitadi four months ago has been displaced again by a group of Maoists. According to reports, a clash had erupted between the YCL cadres and locals as the former physically assaulted an inebriated Maoist ward secretary, Ram Singh Kunwar, at his home on Friday night.
Seeking the resolution of the dispute, two sides visited the Hata Police Post.
Police tried to work out an agreement between the two sides, but the issue remain unresolved as YCL cadres left saying they will come back after consulting with their leader. Around 200 YCL cadres came to the post in the evening.
The cadres manhandled the police personnel at the post and forced them out of their office.
The displaced police personnel contacted us after arriving at Dolya in Shikharpur, said police inspector at the District Police Office, Dilli Raj Bista. An eight-party meeting was held yesterday to resolve the issue, but nothing came out of it as the Maoists said they were not involved in the incident.
