Maoists disrupt House

KATHMANDU: Unified CPN-Maoist, which quit the government on Monday, disrupted the meeting of the legislature parliament today demanding withdrawal of the President's decision to retain army chief Rookmangud Katawal. "We will not let the House run until the President withdraws his decision," Narayan Kaji Shrestha, deputy leader, UCPN-M, told the House. He said the President had ridiculed civilian supremacy by brushing aside the recommendation of the elected government. The meeting was postponed until tomorrow when the UCPN-M lawmakers flocked to the well.
