Maoists for completion of development works in time

Kathmandu, January 17:

Five ministers representing the CPN-(Maoist) in the interim government today discussed the possibility of completing development projects that have already been initiated on time.

Minister for Local Development Dev Gurung said they discussed ways of completing the already initiated development projects under their ministries on the deadline set by those projects.

The recently concluded Maoist’s central committee meeting had directed the Maoist ministers to come up with new development projects that can be executed within the limitation of the Election Commission’s code of conduct which came into force yesterday.

The code of conduct bars executing any new development projects considering that those projects might influence the voters during the CA election.

“Our hands are tied to carry out any new development projects due to the code of conduct.

But we discussed the ways of completing the previously initiated projects on time,” Gurung said, adding they had exchanged views about the status of those projects under their ministries among the ministers and concerns officials of the ministries.
