Maoists meet on future role
Kathmandu, December 18:
The ongoing central committee meeting of the CPN-Maoist, chaired by party chairman Prachanda, has been discussing the party’s future political strategy, keeping in mind the role the party has to play in the interim legislature, interim government and elections to a constituent assembly.
Maoist spokesperson Krishna Bahadur Mahara told this daily that the meeting had focused mainly on the upcoming constituent assembly elections, restructuring of the party’s organisation and ideological issues in the changed political context.
The Maoist spokesperson said most of the central committee members had aired their views in the meeting on the political and organisational reports presented by party chairman Prachanda.
The meeting kicked off on Saturday and is expected to conclude on Wednesday.
