Maoists set terms for disarming
Kathmandu, July 26:
Central committee member of the CPN-Maoist Agni Sapkota said today that his party would not decommission its People’s Liberation Army unless the democratic system is fully secured from feudal and regressive forces.
He said that they would not make the mistake the Nepali Congress and the then CPN-ML made by decommissioning their arms before completely defeating feudal elements. “It will not even take two minutes for the King to take over again if the People’s Liberation Army is dismantled,” Sapkota said at an interaction programme held by the former students’ council of the All Nepal Free Students’ Union.
He said that the King was compelled to revive the dissolved House of Representatives because of the the Maoist Army.
