Maoists stage sit-in protest
HETAUDA: Maoists began a sit-in protest on Wednesday as the process to appoint the employees in the Local Peace Committee got underway.
The rally which began from the Maoist party office Hetauda turned into a sit-in protest at Regional Administration Office.
Former workers of the peace committee are leading the sit-in protest.
They have demanded that there should be no new appointments for the committee. However Maoists also showed their support for the employees of the existing committee.
Earlier Maoists tried to disrupt the interview for the post of branch officer by the Regional Administration Office and clashed with the police.
Bal Krishna Chaulagain, YCL chairman of Makawanpur, seven other Maoists and two policemen were injured in the clash.
