Maoists to hold talks with JTMM
Janakpurdham, August 4:
The Maoists are ready to hold talks with the Janatantrik Terai Mukti Morcha (JTMM), coordinator of the Mithilanchal Regional Coordination Committee of the Madheshi Rastriya Mukti Morcha Bharat Shah said at a press conference following the conclusion of a three-day gathering organised by the committee in Naktajhij (Dhanusha) today.
“We talked about the JTMM led by Jaya Krishna Goit in the gathering. “We will try to sort out differences with the JTMM through talks.”
Participants at the gathering had stressed the need to launch an awareness campaign for making Madhesh ready for a struggle. Former Saptari district secretary of the CPN (Maoist), Surya Nath
Yadav, said, “The party is mulling over holding talks with Goit.” Terming policies and programmes of Goit unclear, Yadav accused Goit of being influenced by the palace and India.
However, he hailed Jay Krishna Goit for fighting to secure the rights of the Madheshi people.
The gathering unanimously passed a proposal forwarded by coordinator Shah.
Meanwhile, dissidents of the Janatantrik Terai Mukti Morcha said the front is on the verge of a split. Jay Krishna Goit, coordinator of the JTMM, is triggering a split by sacking some powerful activists of the party, including Ranabir Singh, Saptari district coordinator of the JTMM, on the charge of going against the party statute.
