Maoists, UML sitting on Left pact, says Pokhrel

Siraha, March 17:

Minister for Health and Population and the central vice-chairman of Janamorcha Nepal Giriraj Mani Pokhrel said today that the Maoists and the CPN-UML are obstructing a Left alliance in the election to constituent assembly.

Speaking at a gathering of party cadres of constituency no 1, 2 and 4 at Zero Mile Primary School here today, he said UML general secretary Madhav Kumar Nepal and Maoist chairman Prachanda should withdraw their candidacies in Kathmandu and pave way for alliance among Left parties.

He said the Janamorcha Nepal would work for Left aliance until the last hour and that his party is ready to withdraw his candidacy to pave way for such an alliance.

The people-oriented forces should prepare people for the constituent assembly election, going to be held for the first time in Nepal, he said. Royalists, external forces and some Madhesi groups are against the CA polls, Minister Pokhrel further said.
