Maoists’ manifesto a pipedream: MJF
Itahari, March 8:
Madhesi Janadhikar Forum president Upendra Yadav today said the Maoists’ constituent assembly polls manifesto was a pipedream. Speaking at a party programme here, Yadav said, “The Maoists’ manifesto is totally impractical and unachievable. They are just trying to hoodwink the people. The Maoists are aping the other communist parties that used to raise jingoistic slogans in the past to befool the people.”
Yadav added that though the communist parties in the past used to make a big hullabaloo they generally ended up losing the election. He said his party had been unable to declare its election manifesto, adding that it would do so as soon as possible. “In three days, we will make public our manifesto,” he said, adding that the MJF manifesto would be a practical one.
Earlier, addressing party cadres in Sunsari district’s constituency no. 2 Yadav said, “We have emerged as a significant political power ahead of the CA polls. It is every cadre’s duty to expand the MJF into the largest party in the Madhes.” He also urged Madhesis, Pahadis, Adivasis, Janajatis and minorities in the Madhes to join hands and help make the MJF the strongest party in the region.
Yadav said a new, peaceful and progressive Nepal would not be possible as long as corruption, discrimination and bad governance persisted. Claiming that the government had agreed to hold the polls on an inclusive and proportional basis because of the Madhes agitation, he warned rebellion would erupt again if the promise of inclusive and proportional polls was not kept.
