KATHMANDU, NOVEMBER 9
A 19-year old climber has become the youngest person from Denmark to scale Mt Ama Dablam this season.
According to Lakpa Sherpa, Chairman at 8K Expeditions, Mark Boelskifte stood atop Ama Dablam at around 7:00am on Wednesday becoming the youngest climber from Denmark to achieve the feat.
"Being part of the 8K Expedition, Mark along with his father Jesper Boelskifte reached the summit point as over 30 climbers from our company have already scaled the peak this season," Lakpa, who is also the expedition director, told THT.
Boelskifte duo were accompanied Yangchhen Sherpa, Lakpa Tenzi Sherpa, Nima Thinduk Sherpa, Pasang Sherpa (Photographer) and Ming Dukpa Sherpa to the summit point of 6,812-metre peak, he shared.
The 19-year old climber has already achieved many incredible achievements in mountain climbing.
According to Lakpa, Mark has climbed many other extreme challenging peaks like Matterhorn, Kilimanjaro, Riffelhorn PeaK , and Mount Toupkal at the age of 13 years.
"Mark has also crossed the island on foot from north to south at the age of 17," he added.
